bagMUSTER diverts nearly 25 tonnes of plastic from landfill in two Melbourne collections

A successful collection in Officer VIC — 145 bales weighing 11.92 tonnes.

This week, bagMUSTER proudly delivered two successful fee-for-service collections in Melbourne, together diverting almost 25 tonnes of agricultural plastic packaging from landfill and into responsible recycling streams.

The fee-for-service collection is a valuable benefit offered to bagMUSTER participants as part of their partnership agreement. It provides a dependable, transparent pathway to remove and recycle bulk volumes of plastic packaging, reinforcing bagMUSTER’s commitment to reducing waste and driving a more sustainable future for Australian agriculture.

116 bales collected from Truganina VIC — with a confirmed weight of 12.85 tonnes.

On Tuesday, a B-double load was collected in Officer, where around 145 bales were prepared for recycling with a confirmed total weight of 11.92 tonnes. On Wednesday, a second collection took place in Truganina, where a further 116 bales were collected, weighing 12.85 tonnes.

Together, these two collections demonstrate the important role bagMUSTER plays in supporting its partners and the wider agricultural community. By offering efficient, reliable, and environmentally positive recycling services, the program is not only delivering on its commitments but also producing tangible environmental outcomes by keeping significant volumes of plastic waste out of landfill.

bagMUSTER is continuing to expand its services across Australia, working alongside partners to ensure agricultural plastics are responsibly collected, processed, and recycled right here in Australia.
