About Member Services

  • Agsafe Member Services supports businesses involved in the handling, storage and transport of agricultural and veterinary (AgVet) chemicals. Through the Agsafe Industry Standards, Premises Assessments, training and ongoing support, Member Services helps businesses strengthen safety, compliance and responsible chemical management.

  • Agsafe Member Services is available to eligible businesses involved in the AgVet chemical supply chain. This includes rural retailers, distribution facilities, storage sites and other organisations seeking support with certification, compliance and industry best practice.

Agsafe Industry Standards & Certification

  • The Agsafe Industry Standards are Australia's national benchmark for the safe handling, storage and transport of agricultural and veterinary (AgVet) chemicals. They provide a practical framework that helps businesses manage risk, meet regulatory obligations and demonstrate responsible chemical management.

  • Eligible businesses involved in the handling, storage and transport of AgVet chemicals can apply for Agsafe Certification. This includes rural retailers, distribution facilities, storage sites and other organisations seeking certification against the Agsafe Industry Standards.

  • Agsafe Certification is an industry certification program. Whether certification is required may depend on supplier requirements, customer expectations, contractual arrangements or other business obligations.

  • Agsafe Certification operates on a three-year certification cycle, provided the business continues to meet the requirements of the Agsafe Industry Standards and maintains its certification status.

  • Premises Assessments are undertaken throughout the certification cycle to verify ongoing compliance with the Agsafe Industry Standards. Monitoring or review activities may also occur during the three-year certification period to support continuous improvement.

  • If an assessment identifies areas requiring improvement, corrective actions may need to be completed before certification can be granted or maintained.

  • Agsafe provides practical guidance, training, resources and ongoing support to help businesses understand the requirements of the Agsafe Industry Standards and maintain compliance throughout the certification cycle.

Premises Assessments

  • A Premises Assessment is an independent evaluation of how a business manages the safe handling, storage and transport of AgVet chemicals. Conducted by experienced Agsafe Field Officers, the assessment reviews both documented systems and day-to-day site practices against the requirements of the Agsafe Industry Standards.

  • An Agsafe Field Officer reviews relevant documentation, inspects the site and discusses systems and operational practices with key personnel. Following the assessment, businesses receive a report outlining areas of compliance, any corrective actions that may be required and the certification outcome.

  • The assessment report summarises the findings of the site assessment, including areas of compliance, any corrective actions that may be required and recommendations to support ongoing improvement where appropriate.

  • Simply contact the Agsafe team to discuss your business requirements. We'll guide you through the certification process, explain what information is required and arrange a suitable assessment time.

Training and support

  • Agsafe offers a range of industry-recognised training programs designed to support safe, compliant and responsible AgVet chemical operations. Training is available in a variety of delivery formats to suit different business needs.

  • Online training provides a flexible way for individuals or small groups to complete training remotely. Onsite training is delivered at your workplace and can be tailored to your business, allowing staff to apply learning in their own operational environment.

  • Agsafe continues to support certified businesses throughout the certification cycle by providing guidance materials, training opportunities and assistance with maintaining compliance and addressing corrective actions where required.

  • The Agsafe Certified Members directory is under construction and will allow you to search for businesses that currently hold Agsafe Certification. You will be able to search by business name or location to verify a site's certification status.
