ChemClear collection coming to Western Australia: Register by 31 January 2026

If you’ve got unwanted or outdated AgVet chemicals sitting in the shed, now’s your chance to clear them out safely. Agsafe is running a ChemClear collection in Western Australia to help farmers and agribusinesses get rid of chemicals they no longer need — the right way.

Register your chemicals by 31 January 2026 to be included in the upcoming collection. It’s a simple way to tidy up the farm, stay safe, and do the right thing by your land.

Keep your farm clean and compliant

Storing outdated or cancelled chemicals can pose serious risks to health, safety, and the environment. A clean, well-maintained farm promotes a safer environment for staff, families, and neighbours, and reduces the risk of accidents or contamination. The ChemClear program provides a safe, responsible disposal pathway, making it easy for farmers and businesses to meet their obligations under quality assurance and farm management programs.

Why register your chemicals?

  • Safety: Protect your staff, family, and environment by disposing of unwanted chemicals correctly.

  • Convenience: Registration is quick and simple online, and collections are conducted locally.

  • Sustainability: Choosing ChemClear promotes sustainable agriculture and supports a cleaner, healthier future for rural communities.

What chemicals are accepted?

ChemClear accepts a wide range of chemicals, which are classified into two groups:

  • Group 1 chemicals are eligible for free disposal if they are still within two years of their expiration date, in original containers, and manufactured by companies participating in the drumMUSTER program.

  • Group 2 chemicals are those that have lost their labels, cannot be identified, have been expired for more than two years, or were manufactured by a company not participating in drumMUSTER. These chemicals require special handling, and a disposal quote will be provided prior to the collection.

How the program works:

  1. Inventory your chemicals: Make a list of all your unwanted or outdated agricultural chemicals, noting details like product name, container size, and the condition of each item. This will help ensure everything is ready for registration.

  2. Register your chemicals: Register your chemicals online at agsafe.org.au or by calling our toll-free number 1800 008 182. ChemClear will classify them as Group 1 (free collection) or Group 2 (disposal fee applies), and you’ll receive a reference number.

  3. Store safely: Keep your chemicals in a secure area, away from people, animals, and potential hazards. ChemClear will send you storage stickers to help label and identify your chemicals until collection day.

  4. Drop off your chemicals: Once a collection is scheduled, you’ll be notified of the date, location, and time. Transport your registered chemicals to the designated collection point safely, using a ute or truck – never in the backseat or boot of a vehicle.

  5. Safe disposal: The ChemClear team will collect and safely dispose of your chemicals. 98% of chemicals are repurposed as an alternate fuel source for industries like cement manufacturing. The remaining 2% are treated using specialised technologies, such as Plasma Arc, or stabilised for secure landfilling. All disposal follows strict Environmental Protection Authority guidelines.
