SFMCA and FIAAA join bagMUSTER in strong show of industry support

Agsafe welcomes the Stock Feed Manufacturers’ Council of Australia (SFMCA) and the Feed Ingredients and Additives Association of Australia (FIAAA) as participating associations in the bagMUSTER program — a step that reflects growing industry support for sustainable polypropylene (PP) bag recycling.

“The participation of SFMCA and FIAAA is a strong signal of industry support for responsible product stewardship. bagMUSTER provides a practical pathway for manufacturers and suppliers to manage polypropylene bag waste while supporting measurable sustainability outcomes across the agricultural supply chain,” said Alicia Garden, CEO of Agsafe.

The decision by SFMCA and FIAAA to formally support bagMUSTER reflects strong alignment between the program and the priorities of the stock feed and feed ingredients sectors, reinforcing bagMUSTER’s role in managing industrial PP bag waste generated through stock feed, fertiliser and seed manufacturing.

“The animal feed industry, through SFMCA and FIAAA, is committed to sustainable and proactive action. Our partnership with bagMUSTER reflects the industry’s focus on responsible stewardship and improved recycling outcomes,” said Ellen Buckle, Executive Officer, Stock Feed Manufacturers' Council of Australia.

The endorsement of these national associations highlights industry confidence in the program’s governance, operational model and long-term sustainability outcomes.

Through this collaboration, eligible SFMCA and FIAAA members can access bagMUSTER partnership at a discounted annual fee, providing a practical and commercially viable pathway to responsible waste management.

bagMUSTER participants gain access to:

  • A reliable, fee-for-service recycling solution for baled industrial polypropylene bags, offering a structured and cost-competitive alternative to landfill where infrastructure is available.

  • Verified sustainability credentials through participation in a nationally recognised product stewardship program.

  • Reduced environmental footprint and regulatory risk through structured recycling engagement.

  • Co-branding and joint communications opportunities with bagMUSTER and Agsafe.

  • Credible, auditable sustainability data to support ESG reporting, customer requirements and tender submissions.

The inclusion of SFMCA and FIAAA strengthens collaboration across the agricultural supply chain and supports collective action toward improved environmental outcomes.

Agsafe looks forward to working with both associations and their members to expand participation in bagMUSTER and continue delivering practical recycling solutions that support environmental responsibility and commercial performance.
